The categories for your blog are automatically set up for you, however clients can create their own. To do this:
- Hover over Posts on the left hand side panel, and select Categories. You will be taken to a page where you can view your current categories, and add any new ones.
- Fill in the Name and Slug of the category. The “slug” is the URL-friendly version of the name. It is usually all lowercase and contains only letters, numbers, and hyphens. Users also have the option of adding a description to their category.
- Once you have finished filling in the details of your category, click Add New Category.
After composing a blog post, users can add it to a category by simply scrolling down the page until they see Categories on the right hand side of the page. Simply tick the box next to the category you wish to add the post to. If you do not categorise your posts, it will automatically be categorised under “uncategorised”.
